The Hendersonville at Station Camp game, originally scheduled for this Thursday, has been moved to Friday. The 7 p.m. season opener — as well as the District 9-AAA opener — for both teams was originally scheduled to be played on Thursday night as part of My30 TV’s Thursday Night Lights. However, due to the ongoing delay of Sumner County schools starting, the television station was forced to pull out of covering the game. The Sumner County Commission will hold a meeting Monday night to discuss the latest proposal from the Sumner County Board of Education. Schools could possibly start this week, but until then the TSSAA games are in limbo as Sumner County Schools has a no school-no games policy. Other football games in 9-AAA possibly affected Friday night are Gallatin playing host to Wilson Central and Beech playing host to Portland. If it is not yet known if the three games could be rescheduled for Oct. 12 — the open date for all six 9-AAA teams. The freshman game between Hendersonville and Station Camp will now be played Thursday night at Hendersonville. Thursday Night Lights will now broadcast another neighborhood battle — Father Ryan at Overton on Friday night. — Corby A. Yarbrough, Sports Editor |
